Designed specifically for independent seniors who manage daily household chores themselves or work with a private housekeeper, but whose families want expert, professional eyes on the ground to monitor physical safety. Your safety specialist visits twice a month on a dependable biweekly schedule for a focused visual hazard assessment of up to 60 minutes — preserving autonomy while giving family members ongoing visibility into the living environment.

What is Included in This Plan:

• Stairs & Circulation Safety: Checking that main hallways and doorways are clear of clutter, handrails are secure on both sides, stair treads are sturdy and slip-resistant, lighting is bright with working switches at the top and bottom, and floor thresholds are flat and safe for daily passage.

• Bathroom Safety: Checking that grab bars are secure at the tub, shower, and toilet zones; non-skid mats are in place; lighting is adequate; faucets are clearly marked hot and cold; and water temperature is set to a safe level.

• Bedrooms & Living Areas: Checking that pathways are clear and well-lit, frequently used items are within safe reach, floors and rugs are secure and trip-free, and furniture is stable and arranged for safe movement.

• Kitchen & Laundry Safety: Checking that walkways and work areas are clear, everyday items are stored within safe reach, floors are free of slip hazards, and appliance and control areas are safe and accessible.

• Life-Safety Systems: Testing smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, checking fire-extinguisher condition, confirming medical-alert and emergency devices are charged and reachable, and verifying that emergency contact information is posted.

• Exterior Entry & Walkways: Checking that walkways and driveways are smooth, level, and free of trip hazards; entry lighting is adequate; steps have sturdy rails; ramps have non-skid surfaces and a safe slope; porches and decks are clear; and exterior door locks operate smoothly.

• Oversight, Not Repairs: This plan covers expert assessment and reporting — we find and document hazards so your family can act. For on-the-spot fixes, upgrade to the Independence & Upkeep Plan.

• Age Safe® Home Score™ Report: Your specialist conducts a structured Age Safe® America home safety assessment that generates a standardized 0–100 Age Safe® Home Score™ and a detailed, photo-documented report — emailed to you and your authorized family the same day as the visit.
